Racketball
Whether you're completely new to racket sports, returning after a break, or looking for a game that's kinder on the joints, racketball (officially known as Squash 57) offers all the thrills of court sports with a gentler learning curve.
It's growing rapidly across the North West, and NWCSL clubs are at the heart of that growth.
The Rules at a Glance
Squash 57 is played between two players on a squash court using a standard racket each. Matches are the best of 3 or 5 games, with each game played to 11 points (point-a-rally scoring). If the score is tied at 10-10, a player must win by 2 clear points.
The serve can hit anywhere on the front wall but must land in the opposite back quarter. After the serve, the rules are essentially the same as squash — players take turns hitting the ball, and the rally ends when someone fails to return it before the second bounce or hits it out of court.
Ready To Play?
Racketball is the ideal entry point to court sports — or a brilliant game in its own right. With longer rallies, more forgiving equipment and a welcoming community, there's never been a better time to step onto court.
